Hola Madrid!

Wednesday, August 14

After a 7hour flight, we arrived at the city of Madrid very early in the morning (7:00 a.m.). Despite the jet lag, the desire to wander and explore the city was much, much stronger. So, once we dropped our bags at the hotel, we left to start the visit at the city center. Our first stop was Puerta del Sol (where the statue of the Oso y el Madroño is located). Due to the fact that is was pretty early in the morning we got to see it without the chaos of tourists and city life. We continued walking through beautiful streets, slowly discovering the wonders that Madrid keeps. Since we began to organize the trip we wanted to visit Chocolatería San Ginés which thankfully we found by chance and decided to have a morning delight and ate some delicious “churros con chocolate”. We continued along the Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real and the Sabatini Gardens. I loved being at the Sabatini Gardens, it was a perfect spot to rest from all the walking and even catch up with some reading, so nice and lovely

After spending most of the morning walking, we decided to go back to the hotel to freshen up and rest for a while. Later during the afternoon, we saw several important points of the city such as Plaza de Toros de las Ventas, Cibeles Fountain, Plaza de España, Neptune Fountain and ended our day eating tapas and drinking sangría at  Mercado San Miguel

Tomorrow I will be posting photos of our visit to the Retiro Park and the Prado Museum.
I hope you guys don't get bored, there’s much more posts to come lol ...

A hug,

Nydia

Nydia
